My Story So Far
From humble beginnings as a developer to my time as a product designer, I've been solving user problems for over 12 years and counting. What can I say, I get a real kick out of helping people achieve their goals in both the digital and physical world.
Me in a nutshell
Thanks for wanting to know more about the man behind the markup. Here are some of what I'm most proud to tell you about myself but if you would like to know more, feel free to contact me.
I bridge the gap between
development & design
My back-end development past ensures I keep technical requirements in mind when I design anything and I am comfortable talking and collaborating with technical stakeholders throughout the design process.
Top 1% of mentors on
ADPList - 2023
I love giving back to the design community. I have been doing this via ADPList and offering my time to help junior designers land their first jobs, or more experienced designers with any questions they have.
IFL the great outdoors
When not at my desk, I'm often found on top of a mountain, exploring a coastline, wild camping or just travelling in general, I draw much inspiration from what i see around me.
My Approach
01
Design for humans
The customers needs are always at the forefront of my design decisions and I combine these seamlessly with business requirements.
02
Collaboration
Whether I work independently or integrate with your team, everyone I include everyone in the design process.
03
Opennes
I am always open to the ideas of others, I encourage everyone to share what's on their mind.
04
Show & tell
I frequently share work in progress, usually in the form of screen recordings or a prototype.
05
Experiment
I often experiment broadly in the early stage by exploring and sharing many ideas and iterating quickly.
06
Test and test again
Designing for humans also means testing with humans. I validate my design decisions whenever I can.
07
Monitor
Newly released features and old ones are constantly monitored for success and opportunity.
08
Keep it lean
I opt for a lean design process, where hypotheses, outcomes and rapid learnings are preferred.
09
Spark joy
I design products that spark joy and delight in users and I get a kick out of knowing i've achieved this.
